Infrastructure Support and Development of Council
Objective & Methodology Summary
During the VIII five year plan (1992-97) a new head entitled strengthening of CST,UP was incorporated with the objective to strengthen the council office in terms of both manpower & machine.
Considering the size of state it remained difficult to cover the state for S&T activities. With the view to expand CST,UP four regional centres of CST,UP were established at Agra, Varanasi, Moradabad and Ghaziabad during 1994-95 with the financial support of department of Science & Technology, New Delhi. Due to administrative causes the Ghaziabad centre was transferred to Bareilly.
Need based proposals are formulated in the division, analysed & recommended by head of the division are approved by Director General, CST,UP. The Sanction regarding financial matter is approved by Executive Committee of CST,UP. Purchase of equipments/ machines is made through the purchase committee of CST,UP as per rules.
Under infrastructure developments, computer programmes are prepared & software is developed in house for further utilisation. Library services are also available in CST,UP.
Achievements& Projection Summary
During a short span of time the strengthening of CST,UP was incorporated in CST,UP plan. Few achievements have been made which are summarised below-
1. Installation of 08 New Computers machines with desk top publishing unit, Fax, 02 Photocopiers, etc in CST,UP office.
2. Installation of LCD Projector with screen, Slide Projector, Automatic Slide Projector, Audio collar and cordless Mike in CST,UP office.
3. Four regional S&T Centres one each at Agra, Varanasi, Bareilly & Moradabad has been established which are functioning properly.
4. Library services are being strengthened.
Projection summary
1. Development of software of Library System Management, Payroll System, PIS, and other office automation etc.
2. Development of council website cstup.gov.in.
3 . Installation of Internet facility.
Projects Highlights
1. Local Area Networking of Computer has been approximately completed.
2. Internet facility installed
3. In addition to four established S&T Centres activity regarding establishment of five more Regional S&T Centres in the plains of the State is being processed.
